About the RoleThis role is ideal for an animal lover who is passionate about providing exceptional care to animals. As a Veterinary Animal Care Specialist, you will work closely with veterinarians to ensure that animals receive the best possible care.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail. You will also be required to maintain accurate records and provide clear instructions to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Care and Handling of Animals: Assist veterinarians with the examination, treatment, and surgery of animals, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Maintenance of Medications and Vaccines: Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of veterinarians, maintaining accurate records of administration.
- Client Counselling: Provide clients with clear information and guidance on animal health care, addressing their concerns and queries in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Laboratory Research: Conduct and assist in laboratory research, contributing to the development of new treatments and procedures.
- Office Management: Perform routine administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping, to support the smooth operation of the clinic.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as veterinary technology or animal science.
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or related setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, veterinarians, and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
