About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Claims Specialist Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for handling complex claims, collaborating with internal and external partners, and providing expert advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Use subject matter expertise to handle complex high-risk claims that typically take over a year to resolve.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners while valuing speed and accuracy to deliver exceptional customer experience.
- Apply claims management principles and procedures in order to manage claims costs and leakage.
- Identify potential fraudulent claims and handle according to organizational processes/procedures.
- Work with claim management vendors to maintain service standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert in their area of expertise to increase knowledge base within claims.
- Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures.
- Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high-risk transactions / activities as necessary.
- Ensure documentation that is prepared / completed is accurate and properly reflects client / business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules / regulations.
- Identify, suggest and actively participate in process improvement opportunities.
- Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines/ corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to provide guidance for complex situations.
- Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions / activities.
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
- Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in claims management or a related field.
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of the operating environment, business processes and procedures, and transactions lifecycle for own area and as applicable across TDI claims.
- Subject matter expertise in complex high-risk claims and ability to provide guidance to others.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
Salary Estimate
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
