Senior Design Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Technologist to join our team at Pinchin. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality HVAC and plumbing design solutions for our industrial, commercial, and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop HVAC and plumbing systems using AutoCAD
  • Maintain and record design files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations to ensure efficient system design
  • Review and process shop drawings to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications as required
  • Support team members with site visits and provide technical guidance as needed

Requirements

  • College/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering, specifically related to HVAC, or Plumbing
  • 5 years+ of industry experience in building services design
  • Proficient operating knowledge of AutoCAD and specific building services drafting experience in HVAC and plumbing
  • Knowledge of energy modeling in IES or Trane Trace is preferred
  • A working knowledge of the BC building and plumbing code
  • Operating knowledge of Revit is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Vehicle and a valid driver's license required
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • High level of English verbal and written communication skills
