We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Science Technologist to join our Building Science and Sustainability team in Richmond, BC.
As a Senior Building Science Technologist, you will conduct on-site inspections, assessments, and reporting services for a wide range of building science core services, including Building Envelope Condition Assessments, Roof Condition Assessments, and property condition assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct investigations and assessments to determine the condition of various building elements and write technical reports summarizing the results.
- Conduct invasive building inspections and testing, including roof cut tests and exploratory openings in exterior/interior walls.
- Develop designs and specifications for restoration projects and conduct construction reviews to ensure quality standards and design requirements are achieved.
- Perform property condition assessments and capital planning in accordance with ASTM standards and best construction practices.
- Assist project managers and engineers in conducting field reviews and developing field reports.
- College diploma in Building Science, Architectural Technology/Science, Construction Technology, or Civil Engineering Technology.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Project Technologist in the Canadian Building Science industry.
- Proficiency in conducting BECAs, RCAs, and PCAs, as well as experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products.
- Good communication skills and command of technical terms.
- Ability to safely transport and carry 20-foot extension or folding ladder, hand tools, and PPE.
