The Admissions Counsellor, Undergraduate plays a vital role in implementing strategies to achieve recruitment and enrollment management objectives at Tyndale University. This position involves communicating with prospective undergraduate students, building relationships, and developing interest in our institution.

Main Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Identify and recruit well-qualified students to Tyndale University by engaging with prospective undergraduate students and promoting our institution's programs.
  • Represent Tyndale University at off-campus recruitment events to showcase our academic offerings and community.
  • Initiate opportunities to promote Tyndale University off-campus, fostering relationships with local communities and organizations.
  • Provide prospective students with guidance and counselling towards undergraduate education, ensuring they make informed decisions about their academic path.
  • Collaborate with Student Admissions representatives to follow up with prospective students, ensuring a seamless application process.
  • Participate as an active member of the Admissions team, contributing to the development and implementation of recruitment strategies.

Application Processing

  • Ensure prospective students receive clear and timely communication regarding their application status, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Process and evaluate undergraduate application files, making informed decisions about admission.
  • Notify applicants of their admission decision and provide post-acceptance instructions, ensuring a smooth transition to our institution.
  • Identify and remove barriers for undergraduate applicants, ensuring equal access to our academic programs.
  • Document correspondence with undergraduate students and track application status, maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide status reports on assigned regions, as required, to inform recruitment strategies and improve outcomes.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of sales or recruiting experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with a Christian higher education institution, preferred.
  • Experience in database management, preferred.
  • Marketing and customer relations experience, preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with prospective students and their families.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct data analysis and inform recruitment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with experience presenting to audiences of various sizes.
  • Working knowledge of basic office equipment and computer software, with proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar applications.
  • Organizational skills, with a high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
