Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Project Manager Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Project Manager to lead our MEP department in delivering high-quality projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project safety, quality, and conformance to contract documents.

Responsibilities
  1. Directly manage safety, quality, and conformance to contract documents for project MEP scopes from project conception through turnover to Facility Management.
  2. Support preconstruction activities to ensure consistency with project procurement model.
  3. Provide constructability and value engineering reviews.
  4. Provide input to Project Managers and Superintendents for schedule development with regards to durations and sequencing of work within overall project schedule framework.
  5. Lead and mentor M&E teams (internal and external).
  6. Implement management process for mechanical and electrical RFI's and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements.
  7. Manage risk associated with MEP scopes utilizing knowledge of operational best practices and the owner's project requirements.
  8. Assist in development of overall project budget, evaluation of tender packages and pricing, forecasting and monitoring project cash flows.
  9. Contract & scope development, evaluation and identification of scope gaps, assessment and mediation.
  10. Collaborate with electrical/mechanical/controls subcontractors to ensure project and team success.
  11. Monitor and provide updates for MEP work within overall schedule.
  12. Support Project Commissioning Authority and define roles and responsibility within construction team as it pertains to commissioning processes.
  13. Evaluate MEP monthly progress draws for accuracy and adherence to project cash flow model.
Requirements
  1. Engineering/Mechanical degree or equivalent combination of technical training and industry memberships.
  2. 10 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience.
  3. Working knowledge of current mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices.
  4. Proven ability to identify and document problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them.
