Power Systems Protection and Control Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Protection and Control Engineer to join our team in Edmonton, Canada. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for developing engineering and protection and control drawings of substation systems and power systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing detailed electrical designs and project management plans for high-voltage substation and power projects
  • Preparing reports that present technical and project information in a clear and concise manner
  • Creating Electrical design packages and coordinating with designers and engineers from other disciplines to complete deliverables
  • Interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables
  • Performing QA/QC of electrical engineering design packages and providing regular progress updates related to deliverables on projects
  • Supporting commissioning and field engineering activities and developing Project Estimates
  • Interfacing directly with clients and directing work for a team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (5+ years)
  • Professional Engineering designation is a requirement
  • Strong safety mindset, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and develop strong client relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate solid technical understanding, and visualize and evaluate equipment details and drawing relationships
  • Intermediate level experience and knowledge of protection and control systems within substations, power systems, and renewable energy systems
  • Ability to manage and deliver Engineering deliverables as per project schedule and within budget

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $95,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on experience. This figure is based on the location, job requirements, and industry standards.
