Cook Job Description

Saskatchewan Inc. is seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as requisitioning food and kitchen supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
  • Supply Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, as well as manage kitchen operations.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant or rural area.
  • Certifications: Food Safety Certificate.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment, requiring attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
