Fitness Instructor

The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department at the City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fitness Instructor to join our team. As a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for providing instruction for a wide variety of specialized group fitness and fitness-related classes in identified programs at the City of Ottawa.
Key Responsibilities- Provide instruction for group fitness classes in accordance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
- Develop and implement fitness programs that meet the needs of diverse populations.
- Collaborate with other recreation and cultural services staff to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to recreation and cultural services.
- Conduct fitness assessments and provide personalized fitness coaching to clients.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends and best practices.
- Completion of Grade 10 and Current Fitness Certification from a recognized fitness certification organization (or equivalent as deemed acceptable by management).
- Minimum of 6 months of experience or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Fitness Instructor certificate (e.g., canfitpro, YM-YWCA, Ontario Fitness Council or other recognized certification).
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates.
- AODA Customer Service/IASR Training.
