Airport Security Officer Job Description

**Role Summary:**

As an Airport Security Officer with Paladin Airport Security Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers and airport staff. You will be responsible for screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints, confirming valid boarding passes, and scanning and testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Screen passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
* Confirm valid boarding passes
* Scan and test baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology
* Protect restricted areas
* Manage conflict
* Communicate clearly and effectively
* Uphold all regulations with vigilance

**Requirements:**

* Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
* Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
* Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
* Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
* Current resident of Prince Rupert, or the surrounding areas
