About the Role

Netsweeper Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Waterloo, ON. As a key member of our Network Engineering Team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our internal IT infrastructure and cloud-based SaaS deployments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain internal IT infrastructure, including network, hardware, and end-user systems and software.
  • Design and implement new cloud-based services, onboard customers onto the cloud platform, and perform day-to-day maintenance and support of cloud services.
  • Assist in network design and implementation, provide network support with various operating systems, and install and configure computer network equipment.
  • Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations and mobile computing systems, oversee local area network and wide area network, and provide network support to users.
  • Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings, develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources, and implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up.
  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades, monitor network to ensure optimal performance, create and maintain network users/permissions, and test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
  • Create technical support documentation for systems and applications, oversee digital security, use security tools to protect the network from hackers, malware, and other threats, and attend meetings and lead computer training sessions.
  • Maintain virtual infrastructure, including ESX, Digital Ocean, AMI, Hyper-V, Azure, Rackspace, and other cloud platforms, and have expertise in public and private cloud provisioning, performance management, and governance.
  • Build and operate the cloud infrastructure, platform, and services to deliver highly available applications and integrations, configure and monitor Nagios, Zabbix, and other monitoring systems, manage Linux-based firewalls, and be available for rotational On Call shifts.
