The Role

This role is responsible for the security, stability, and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to assess near- and long-term capacity needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, disaster recovery, processes, and service records.
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, in order to identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Perform estimating, prioritizing, planning of tasks to reliably and consistently deliver according to plan.

Acquisition and Deployment

  • Conduct research as directed on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed solutions to aid management in making procurement decisions.

Operational Management

  • Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Maintain network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions, security audits, and system backups and recovery.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of networks for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Develop and test scripts, programs, code, and configuration in support of optimizing routine operations and tasks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis in support of incident and problem management. Recommended options to address identified issues.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with enterprise scale, multi-point WAN networks.
  • Translate complex data into meaningful and useful information based on the needs of a particular stakeholder or end user.
  • Advanced working knowledge of personal computer software packages, networks, operating systems.
  • Designing and deployment of automation technologies.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL.
  • Experience designing and managing firewall and UTM technologies.
  • Technical Skills
  • TCP/IP.
  • Network switching.
  • Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
  • Load balancing.
  • CISCO ACI.
  • VPN.
  • NAC Systems.
  • Wireless.
  • VOIP technologies.
  • Capabilities in Ansible, Python, Azure DevOps.
  • Formal Education & Certifications/Designations Required Preferred
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification (., CCNP, CCDP).
  • Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or equivalent.
