Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at the Halifax Port Authority. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising construction projects, ensuring timely progress and adherence to budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and other documents for construction projects
- Perform field work, including surveys, materials testing, and inspections
- Coordinate with project managers and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Monitor project costs and schedules, and make recommendations for remedial action as needed
- Ensure quality of materials and work provided by contractors complies with specifications
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in construction or infrastructure maintenance
- Certified Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or in progress of obtaining (EIT)
- High degree of proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS (Geographical Information System) is an asset
