Job Title: Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at the Halifax Port Authority. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising construction projects, ensuring timely progress and adherence to budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and other documents for construction projects
  • Perform field work, including surveys, materials testing, and inspections
  • Coordinate with project managers and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Monitor project costs and schedules, and make recommendations for remedial action as needed
  • Ensure quality of materials and work provided by contractors complies with specifications

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in construction or infrastructure maintenance
  • Certified Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or in progress of obtaining (EIT)
  • High degree of proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS (Geographical Information System) is an asset
