Assistant Store Manager - Luxury Retail Leader

At Tapestry, Inc., we're seeking a talented Assistant Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store leadership, you'll play a vital role in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and fostering a positive store environment.

Sales and Service

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and Associate Manager(s) to develop and implement sales strategies that align with company priorities and values.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a passion for fashion and a commitment to delivering Coach's Selling and Service expectations.
  • Work closely with the sales team to maximize floor supervisor role, driving strong metrics and results through team selling and selling to multiple customers.
  • Take ownership of sales and productivity goals, communicating effectively with the team and Store Manager to achieve results.
  • Develop a clienteling strategy in partnership with the Store Manager and Associate Manager(s), implementing and monitoring strategy to achieve business goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on local market trends and changes, supporting the execution of local sales strategies and tactics.
  • Build credibility and trust as a personal fashion advisor, communicating fashion awareness and trends to the team and customers.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, driving brand loyalty and business through events, associations, and mall initiatives.

  • Create a positive and inclusive store environment, fostering enthusiasm and positivity among team members.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating confidence and a high level of ownership and accountability for results.
  • Build trusting relationships with peers and team members, acting as an advocate for the team and brand.
  • Stay adaptable and flexible, switching gears to meet the needs of the business and supporting the Store Manager and Associate Manager(s) as needed.
  • Use available resources to make informed decisions, taking ownership and accountability for results.
  • Delegates and empowers others, recognizing and valuing individual performance and providing consistent and timely feedback.
  • Evaluate performance and create action plans for continuous development, resolving performance problems through coaching and counseling techniques.

Operations

  • Manage daily operational tasks according to Coach standards, including selling and service expectations, operations, payroll, human resources, and loss prevention.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen, interacting and communicating with supervisors on a regular basis to keep them informed.
  • Maintain interior and exterior upkeep of the building, partnering with the corporate office as needed.
  • Understand and use all retail systems and reporting tools, adhering to all retail policies and procedures.

Additional Requirements

Experience: At least 1 year of previous management experience in a luxury retail service environment, with current knowledge of fashion trends and competition in the marketplace.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

Technical: Proficient with MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), with experience using retail systems (labor management, inventory systems, sales reporting, etc.).

Physical: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members, with mobility to maneuver the sales floor and stock room to provide and support customer service.

Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, busy seasons, and high retail traffic and sales days.
