Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Triovest Inc. as a key member of our commercial property accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to a high-performing team of accounting professionals.
    • Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
    • Mentor and coach team members to achieve their full potential and ensure the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans and budgets for commercial properties.
    • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Accounting and Auditing
    • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
    • Conduct audits and reviews of financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and address any discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including property management, asset management, and other functional groups.
    • Communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualifications
    • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset combined with a post-secondary degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience and Skills
    • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in the commercial real estate industry.
    • Proven ability to train, mentor, and oversee junior accounting staff.
    • Expertise in CAM and Tax recoveries calculations for Office, Industrial, and Retail tenants.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Aptitude in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
    • Knowledge of commercial property accounting software such as Yardi.
