Job Summary

Radiant Care Tabor Manor is seeking a skilled Therapeutic Recreationist to join our team. As a Therapeutic Recreationist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing recreational programs for residents, promoting socialization, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and assessing resident needs and developing activities and programs in collaboration with the Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor
  • Encourage and record resident participation in programs
  • Assist with the creation of monthly activity calendars
  • Attend team conferences, as required
  • Ability to coordinate volunteers to compliment programs, as required
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve program objectives
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary Resident Care Plan meetings to discuss resident response to programs, new admissions, special issues, and new goals
  • Maintain clinical documentation and records
  • Requisitions supplies and services for program activities

Requirements

  • Training and education in recreation/leisure services, Therapeutic Recreation or Kinesiology from a recognized community college or university as per Ministry of Health standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel
  • Experience in recreation programming and planning
  • Montessori training, or knowledge of Montessori approaches/theories would be an asset
