Job Summary

Radiant Care Tabor Manor is seeking a skilled Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Therapeutic Recreation department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and assessing resident needs and developing activities and programs in collaboration with the Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor.
  • Encourage and record resident participation in programs.
  • Assist with the creation of monthly activity calendars.
  • Attend team conferences, as required.
  • Coordinate volunteers to support programs, as needed.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Participate in Resident Care Plan meetings to discuss resident response to programs, new admissions, and special issues.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and records.
  • Requisition supplies and services for program activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Training and education in recreation/leisure services, Therapeutic Recreation, or Kinesiology from a recognized community college or university.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience in recreation programming and planning.
  • Montessori training or knowledge of Montessori approaches/theories is an asset.
