Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Dynacare. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using skillful venipuncture techniques.
- Enter data, patient, and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions accurately and efficiently.
- Sort and steer specimens, perform ECGs, Holter Hookups, paternity, urine, drug, and breath alcohol collections.
- Ensure specimens and supporting documentation are completed as required in SOPs and ready for data entry and transportation to the laboratory.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
- Secondary School diploma and completion of a Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine care for patients' health.
- Ability to manage anxious patients through the sample obtaining process in a pleasant, calming, and reassuring manner.
- Prioritize and self-manage within a deadline-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
