Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Sushi Chef to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, ensuring exceptional presentation and taste.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to recipes and quality standards
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances by adapting ingredients and cooking methods
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure consistency and quality
- Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain inventory levels and support efficient operations
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
- Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment inventory
- Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Manage kitchen operations to ensure smooth day-to-day activities
- 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a sushi restaurant
- Demonstrated expertise in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation and presentation
- Strong communication and leadership skills to train and supervise staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
