Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, providing individualized support, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, including those with autism, behavioral challenges, and physical disabilities.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and mobility.
  • Support students with academic and behavioral challenges, including developing and implementing individualized behavior plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of student support plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Experience working with students with complex needs, including those with autism, behavioral challenges, and physical disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
