We're seeking an Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at Mother Tongue. As a key member of our culinary team, you'll be responsible for assisting the executive chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations.

 

About the Role:

We're offering a competitive salary of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. This role is ideal for a motivated and organized individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Floor Supervision: Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that all menu items meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  2. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory levels to ensure efficient use of resources.
  3. Chef Development: Train and mentor junior chefs in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  4. Event Planning: Assist in planning and executing special events, such as banquets, weddings, and corporate functions.
  5. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role or as a senior cook.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
