About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer to join our team at Egis in Canada (formerly McIntosh Perry). As a CAD Designer, you will play a critical role in preparing structural design drawings for transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed structural design drawings for ports, maritime, rail, and highways transportation projects.
  • Review and verify shop drawings prepared by third-party vendors to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and client requirements.
  • Conduct quality control checks on design drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to ensure design drawings meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in software, including BIM tools such as Revit, Tekla, and Dynamo.
  • Contribute to special projects, such as developing internal drafting standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the transportation infrastructure industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction from senior designers and engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with BIM software, including Revit, Tekla, and Dynamo.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for transportation infrastructure design.
