About Royal Inland Hospital
Royal Inland Hospital, part of the Interior Health Authority, is seeking highly skilled anaesthesiologists to join its team as it expands its services. The hospital provides a wide range of medical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, ENT, plastic surgery, urology, and manages multiple trauma cases for pediatric and adult patients.
The Department of Anaesthesiology at RIH works closely with six highly qualified anesthesiology assistants and provides teaching to senior residents who rotate through the hospital during their elective time.
Key Highlights of the Position
This is a hospital-based position with a competitive salary range of $400,000 to $600,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will work 15 hour weekday shifts and 12 hour weekend shifts (approximately one weekend per month), with on-call remuneration and the potential for 10-12 weeks off per year to enjoy the local recreational activities.
Public holidays will be distributed equally among colleagues, providing a good work-life balance. For those interested, there may be opportunities to do locums or other short-term work.
The successful candidate will also have access to leadership development opportunities through Interior Health's NAVIG8 Program, which is designed specifically for physicians to develop the practical leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills required to step into leadership roles early in their careers.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must:
- Be eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) – Anesthesiology
- Hold a Doctorate in Medicine
- Have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
