Job Summary

The Maintenance Coordinator will provide work package support to the Ship Maintenance Leads and the broader Service Delivery team, managing and coordinating assigned Technical Support Network (TSN) during each Work Period. The role ensures that TSN's complete all agreed maintenance activities to the required quality in a safe and environmentally friendly manner, deliver complete Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for all completed tasks, manage all special tools and test equipment loaned to TSN's, and manage all material expended or returned by the TSN's.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general project support and administration activities to the Waterfront Service Delivery Team while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
  • Review and ensure that maintenance instructions are complete and sufficient for service providers to complete assigned maintenance operations and oversee maintenance activities being conducted to the required quality in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Compile Work Item closure reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy, and enter into the designated project tool for Work Item closure.
  • Generate and manage documentation and reports in various formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as and when required in support of the Service Delivery Team.
  • Ensure subcontracted service providers have the necessary paperwork and materials to complete designated maintenance tasks.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for Suppliers and Subcontracted Services, maintain purchase orders, and ensure the efficient financial closure of Subcontracts on behalf of the Service Delivery and Procurement teams.

Requirements

  • Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft products especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint essential.
  • Experience within procurement, project management, or warehouse environments highly desirable, and project experience interfacing between internal/external stakeholders.
  • Minimum of two years previous experience working within the Military or a Defence Contract or Project desirable.
  • Experience with the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), or comparable document management system is advantageous.
  • Experience working in SAP, or comparable Enterprise Resource Planning or Asset Management software is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in ship-refit and repair activities is advantageous.

Physical Demands

  • Will be required to undertake inspections, including confined space entry, on naval ships involving bending and twisting.
