About the Position

We are seeking an Environmental Regulatory Permitting Specialist to join our team at Woodlands North Inc. in Edmonton or Whitecourt. This is a full-time permanent position focused on environmental regulatory applications and related projects.

Woodlands North Inc. is a leader in environmental and ecological restoration services. We specialize in environmental inventory and spatial analysis to achieve comprehensive ecological restoration objectives and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage project deliverables and working relationships with Woodlands peers, management, regulators, and clients.
  • Maintain accurate records with exceptional organizational skills, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Environment and Parks, Alberta Energy Regulator, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans regulations and guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience in Alberta Environment and Parks, Alberta Energy Regulator, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans online permitting application and report submission systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of current best management practices and regulatory requirements for environmental permitting applications and reporting.
  • Field experience in water and fish-related enforcement and assessments, and construction practices.
  • University Degree or technical diploma in natural resources, including environmental law courses, and 5 years of field experience.
