About the Role

CertainTeed Canada is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team in Mississauga. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing leadership to our Health, Safety, and Environment programs, ensuring compliance with corporate and provincial legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze EHS data to inform and drive decision-making, ensuring alignment with our World Class Manufacturing framework.
  • Conduct regular inspections and evaluations to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and implement EHS training programs, promoting a culture of safety and wellness among employees.
  • Liaise with government entities and maintain all necessary permits and certifications.
  • Audit and ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain Safety Standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead and facilitate Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings, fostering open communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring the well-being of employees and the organization.
  • Investigate safety incidents, identifying root causes and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and implement safety risk reduction project plans, leveraging data and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure safety and environmental considerations are integrated into all aspects of project delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions to address safety and environmental concerns.
Requirements
  • University degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in EHS management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to lead by example and promote a culture of safety and wellness.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software systems.
