About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fashion Buyer to join our Buying Department at Harry Rosen. As a Fashion Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating vendors for private label development, preparing sell thru reports, and sourcing product for outlet locations and mainline margin OP buys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and evaluate vendors for private label development
  • Prepare sell thru reports to bring/send to vendor appointments
  • Source product for outlet locations and mainline margin OP buys as needed
  • Market research and retail landscape awareness, including positive/negative business trends to manage risk
  • Review and adjust basic inventory assortment
  • Conduct seasonal review and execution of RTVs from RTV warehouse
  • Provide input to planning team to finalize markdowns
  • Source potential online only merchandise
  • Support Trunk Show/In Store Events
  • Request samples from vendors & digital assets
  • Conduct online expert reviews of product to boost profile
  • Prepare Seasonal Merchandise Pitch Deck and ongoing product knowledge to SH
  • Regular Store Visits with set agenda

Requirements:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Merchandising or a related discipline or buying experience preferred
  • Knowledge in footwear, an asset
  • An exceptional orientation to detail
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Innovative thinker, and problem solver
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong sense of urgency with the proven ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional computer skills, specifically Excel, as well as Word, and Outlook
  • Retail experience, an asset
