Job Opportunity:
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be a recognized academic leader with a demonstrated record of excellence in research, clinical training, and education. They will be responsible for developing a strong inter-professional program of academic scholarship, characterized by recruitment, retention, and promotion of productive faculty members, external grant funding, peer-reviewed publications, scientific and community presentations, and outstanding training with the active participation of students, residents, and fellows.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry
- Lead a team of faculty members and staff to achieve academic and research goals
- Foster collaboration among hospitals affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry
- Recruit and retain productive faculty members
- Secure external grant funding
- Promote the Division's research and clinical activities
Requirements:
The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. They must also be eligible for certification with their respective College and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or health profession equivalent.
