About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer to join our team at Scotiabank, a leading digital bank in Canada. As a key member of our mobile banking team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying world-class digital products and experiences on the Android platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and Dagger.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration to ensure robustness, security, and usability of the application.
  • Work closely with the design team to prototype, wireframe, and white-board ideas for new features and products.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, best practices, and technologies.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years of native mobile development experience.
  • Strong understanding of Android platform, including Kotlin, Java, Dagger, and Android Studio.
  • Experience with unit-testing, code for robustness, security, usability, and improving performance of the overall application.
  • Familiarity with building mobile accessibility components to improve application usability.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Strong command in Computer Science concepts (SOLID, etc.).
  • Experience in integrating Third Party libraries and SDKs.
  • Experience building applications that consume web services and HTTP REST interaction with JSON.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
