Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team at School District #41 (Burnaby). As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our heating and ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heating and ventilation equipment, including boilers, rooftop units, and forced air systems.
  • Inspect and clean pipes, ducts, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Calibrate and repair pneumatic and electronic controls, as well as thermostats and DDC systems.
  • Work with computer software to program and schedule automated heating and ventilating systems.
  • Collaborate with other facilities staff to ensure seamless operation of our mechanical systems.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Trades Qualification (TQ) in Steamfitting/Pipefitting or a relevant trade.
  • Gasfitter's Certificate (Class B) (Class A preferred).
  • Four years of experience as a Journeyman in HVAC service, with boiler maintenance and DDC/building automation experience.
  • Restricted electrical ticket (an asset).
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5).
  • Extensive knowledge of current techniques, methods, procedures, and equipment applicable to the HVAC trade, as well as computerized control software and equipment.
