Job Summary

The Manufacturing Process Specialist is a key role within Johnson Electric, responsible for driving process improvements and optimizing manufacturing operations to achieve world-class standards. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and lean principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of lean manufacturing principles and tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with production and technical support resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Meet plant goals and standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Implement automotive operating systems, including APQP, PPAP, and QOS, as per ISO/IATF 16949 standards.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including set-up instructions, parameter sheets, and machine logs.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership of assembly lines.
Requirements
  • A degree in Mechanical Technology/Engineering or appropriate combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Experience in hands-on automated assembly operations.
  • Excellent PC-based computer skills.
  • Knowledge of CNC, PLC programming, robots (FANUC and ABB) preferred.
  • Working experience with automotive assembly operations, preferably with powertrain applications and including high precision components, inline gauging, leak testing, vision systems, and auxiliary processes.
  • Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently.
  • Process improvement tools such as Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on ISO/IATF 16949 operating systems.
  • Ability to interact and lead effectively at all levels of the organization.
