Assistant Professor Position in Biostatistics and Medicine at McGill University: A Bayesian Analysis Opportunity

The International Society for Bayesian Analysis is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill an Assistant Professor position in Biostatistics and Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of Bayesian methods in health research.
About the PositionWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in biostatistics and a demonstrated ability to develop and apply Bayesian methods in clinical research and large complex health-related data. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop an independent, externally funded research program of the highest international standards
- Successfully compete for research funding
- Supervise a diverse body of graduate students
- Contribute to formal teaching in our Master's and PhD programs
- Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and other knowledge translation and exchange activities
The ideal candidate will have a doctorate in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field, as well as significant post-doctoral experience. They will also have a track record of research productivity, a demonstrated ability to obtain grants for their own research, and a commitment to high-quality teaching and inclusive pedagogy.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have:
- A doctorate in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field
- Relevant research experience in the development and application of Bayesian methods for clinical research and large complex health-related data
- A track record of research productivity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications
- A demonstrated ability to obtain grants for their own research
- A commitment to high-quality teaching and inclusive pedagogy
- Fluency in English, and a working knowledge of French or a commitment to acquiring it
