Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, review, and presentation of financial information, including budgetary and financial reports.
  • Assist in the creation and monitoring of financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to various departments within the City, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Assist in the development of financial models and forecasts to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards to provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including responding to financial inquiries and providing financial guidance.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and creative, with a passion for financial analysis and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial software, including PeopleSoft Financials and Amanda.
  • Experience in conducting research, maintaining and reporting comparative statistics, and developing policies and procedures.
  • Experience in government reporting, procedure-related Quality Assurance reviews, and reporting, and experience in high volume/complex database extracting and sorting/organizing.
