Mental Health Social Worker Description

At PHSA, we are seeking a skilled Mental Health Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work alongside healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psycho-social assessments to identify client needs and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with care management personnel to facilitate the management of cases with complex discharge needs.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Attend clinical/case conferences to contribute to client reviews, admissions, and discharges.
  • Provide consultative and direct services to clients, families, staff, and community health professionals on various social work-related issues.

Requirements

  • Masters of Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work and one (1) year post-Bachelor of Social Work experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
