Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker. As an integral part of our care team, you will work closely with clients, staff, and community partners to provide personalized support and services.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing and implementing activity plans that promote physical and emotional well-being. This includes organizing and leading various activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, and social events. You will also work closely with clients to establish goals and objectives, and provide ongoing support and feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement activity plans to promote client engagement and participation.
  • Lead and participate in various activities, including arts and crafts, sports, and social events.
  • Work closely with clients to establish goals and objectives, and provide ongoing support and feedback.
  • Collaborate with other service providers to assess client needs and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including statistics, progress reports, and client activity profiles.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Recreation Service Delivery or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience in an applied Human/Social Service field.
  • At least two years of working experience in a mental health setting, including community work experience.
  • Resident Care Attendant Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • A Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Clearance required if hired.
  • WHIMIS.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
