Medavie Blue Cross is seeking a skilled Group Underwriter to join our team. As a Group Underwriter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial success of our group health, life, and disability income lines of business.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement renewal pricing strategies, analyzing experience and trends to justify pricing decisions and recommend alternatives.
- Establish rates for new group business and respond to financial inquiries within specified parameters.
- Prepare financial statements for ASO and Retention groups in accordance with financial agreements.
- Draft and update financial agreements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and achieve underwriting targets for growth and profitability.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with clients and producers, as well as internal stakeholders, including sales staff, case management, and group administration.
- Post-secondary education.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Group Underwriting.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset.
