Role Overview:
Equitable Life of Canada is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Individual Insurance team. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in risk assessment for life and critical illness products, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply strong underwriting expertise to assess medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors
- Provide high-quality work consistently, meeting service standards and deadlines
- Manage daily work volumes independently, ensuring efficient and effective underwriting processes
- Deliver exceptional client experiences, providing clear and concise communication
- Comply with legislative requirements, consumer regulations, and reinsurance treaties related to privacy, disclosure, and risk classification
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of underwriting processes and procedures
Requirements:
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset
- Superior technical knowledge in medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong reinsurance relationships and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
