Data Governance Consultant - Vernon

TEEMA is seeking an experienced Data Governance Consultant to lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks for a transformative project based in Vernon.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data governance frameworks and best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data quality management, metadata tools, and data classification methodologies.

About the Role:

This critical role requires a deep understanding of organizational goals, compliance requirements, and enterprise data strategies. As a Data Governance Consultant, you will develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, define data governance policies, standards, and procedures, and partner with cross-functional teams to establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework aligning with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability practices.
  • Assess existing data management practices and recommend improvements.
  • Deliver training and support to stakeholders to foster a data-driven culture.
  • Oversee data quality management initiatives, including data lineage, metadata management, and data classification.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for integrating governance practices with broader enterprise data strategies.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Strong expertise in data quality management, metadata tools, and data classification methodologies.
  • Proven ability to drive cultural change and implement organization-wide governance processes.
  • Experience working in large or mid-sized enterprises, especially in data-intensive industries.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, or similar).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 6 to 12 months, with potential for extension based on project needs.
  • Location: On-site work in Vernon is mandatory, with some flexibility for hybrid arrangements.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
