**Job title**: Technical Lead

**Job Purpose**:
As a Technical Lead you will have a varied role within the organization, working directly with our Technology Stakeholders and Architecture function to create solution design, whilst taking responsibility for a technical team, their implementation capability and overarching success. You will thrive on solving complex problems by designing or modifying existing technology solutions and testing the integration of software in these designs. You will be more than capable of leading a development team both strategically and tactically, providing guidance in the development process, and ensuring that the final result is reflective of the blueprints created. You will ensure that Non-functional targets (NFR’s) are understood, met and when needed mitigated. Working with your peers across our Infrastructure, Data, QA functions will be key to ensuring the solutions we produce are fit for purpose and scalable, keeping a holistic view of the Technology roadmap and lifecycle with our Architecture function.

**The Technology Lead will**:

- Lead a team of developers and QA’s to ensure they have the tools to operate successfully.
- Ensure that the team understand the technical solutions we are creating and the expected outcomes.
- Be a pivotal part of solution design process and implementation - Creating relevant artifacts to help enable the successful implementation of Projects and Product enhancements.
- Help shape the Architecture framework.
- Create an IT system integration process that meets our organizational needs.
- Work with peers across the Technology function to ensure that the solutions we are building have considered the impact across the Technology Landscape.
- Build and maintain relationship with key business stakeholders, embedding them in the process of solution design and implementation.
- Work closely with compliance teams to ensure that solutions meet regulatory requirements and are documented appropriately.
- Sets team level targets that align to our departmental and business goals - Ensuring the team remains goal-orientated and disciplined.
- Work with the TDL (Technical Delivery Lead) to increase team productivity and reduce wastage.
- Help to deliver projects on time and successfully.
- Where needed assign tasks fairly with the team ensuring people have the opportunity to grow whilst continuing to deliver efficiently.
- Stay up to date and focused on existing and emerging technologies.

**Essential Job Functions / Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Leading a Software Development Team (number of teams depending on size and complexity of work)
- Work with the Head of Development to ensure that Development standards are met at team level.
- Be a key member of the Technical Design Authority and Architectural Governance boards.
- Take ownership of solutions impacting your area of Technology and understand the impact across the landscape. Ensuring our teams have the capability and tools to build them affectively.
- Ensure that solutions meet regulatory requirements are documented appropriately per jurisdiction.
- Drives re-use of new and existing components.
- Ensures that we are implementing configurable and scalable solitons - build it once use it often.
- Collaborating with Architecture, Data, Infrastructure to help drive standardization.
- Communicating affectively with all areas of the organization.
- Providing Technical support & leadership.
- Share success and learnings effectively across teams.

**Support a culture of excellence Skills & Qualifications**:

- A senior level Software Developer / Solution Architect with successful technical leadership experience.
- Proficient in databases like SQL server and Restful API.
- 10 + years’ experience with Microsoft technologies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or demonstrable appropriate experience)
- Understanding of multiple programming languages.
- Critical problem solver.
- Can work just as well with stakeholders as with their own direct reports.
