Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Section Chief, Engineering to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team at Bombardier Transportation GmbH.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team with dual mandates: establishing and managing standardized components for optimal product development, and ensuring the effective management and dissemination of engineering knowledge and processes within the Bombardier Engineering System (BES).
  • Oversee the development, qualification, and integration of standardized components into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous component management processes to prevent proliferation and ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of standardized components into product development cycles.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the management of engineering processes, content, and knowledge within the BES.
  • Ensure the alignment of BES with Bombardier's product development methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the engineering organization through effective utilization of the BES.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the BES.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • At least 15 years of proven experience in aerospace engineering with a strong understanding of product integration, standard components, and utilization.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of PLM and ERP systems and data management practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual and possess good communication and presentation skills in both French and English (written and spoken).
