Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Data Analytics Expert to join our Global Wealth team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage advanced data analytics skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated individual with experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization to execute audits and provide assurance over internal controls in our Asset Management, Wealth Distribution, and Insurance business lines.

The successful candidate will have working knowledge of the operations and regulatory environments of the Wealth and Insurance industries in Canada and be able to develop innovative solutions using large datasets and distributed computing tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in data analysis engagements, executing various business audit activities
  • Collaborate with business lines and stakeholders to enhance Internal Audit's and the Bank's data analysis practices and adoption
  • Identify, acquire, and use large volumes of data to create new models and algorithms that help the Internal Audit group execute audits more efficiently
  • Develop and enhance visual dashboards to enable data-based continuous monitoring throughout Audit
  • Prepare detailed documentation to outline data sources, models, and algorithms used and developed, as well as results obtained

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of Asset Management and Wealth Distribution data-analytics related experience
  • Working knowledge of the operations and regulatory environments of the Wealth and Insurance industries in Canada
  • Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • Experience with statistical tools (R or Python)
  • Solid SQL skills for querying relational databases
