Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

555 TRANSPORTATION INC. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across the country.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and materials, meeting customer expectations.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Obtain special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Pay and receive payments for goods, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and other maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods, following all safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • Bear awareness Certification.
  • Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles).
  • S-100 basic fire suppression and safety training.
  • Working at heights training.
  • Commercial Driver Registration Program (CDRP) Card.
  • Defensive Driving Course.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Extended Trailer Combination Permit or Endorsement.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate.
  • Pro-Trucker/Smart Driver (fuel efficiency) Training.
  • Professional Driver Improvement Certificate.
  • Skid Control Training.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
Work Environment:

As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be working on the road, traveling across the country to transport goods and materials. You will be required to work independently, making decisions and taking actions to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
