Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver - Over the Road Professional

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at 555 Transportation Inc. as an over the road professional.

About the Job:

This is a permanent full-time position that requires working on a regular basis, with a guaranteed number of hours per week. You will be responsible for driving a commercial vehicle, transporting goods and materials from one location to another, while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor-trailer combination, transporting goods and materials across various routes.
  • Ensure timely delivery of cargo, adhering to schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of travel, including hours worked, distances traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Loading and unloading goods, handling heavy loads, and ensuring the safe transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues regarding shipment status, issues, or concerns.
Requirements:
  • A valid Class 1 or A driver's license, with a clean driving record.
  • Commercial Driver Registration Program (CDRP) Card.
  • Bear awareness Certification, Air Brakes Endorsement, and First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a long haul truck driver, with a strong understanding of the industry and its challenges.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Experience with GPS navigation systems, trip recorders, and other technology used in the transportation industry.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
