Job Summary

The Vice President of Finance is a key executive role responsible for the financial stewardship of Ambrose University. This position leads and coordinates the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic financial planning processes to ensure alignment with the university's mission, vision, and values.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance to ensure the financial health of Ambrose University.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal and external audit processes.
  • Collaborate with the Investment Committee to manage investment strategies.
  • Work with the Executive team to create and maintain long-term business plans and financial options for Ambrose University.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators and linkages to financial performance management.
Qualifications
  • A professional accounting designation is required.
  • At least 10 years of managerial and leadership experience in strategic financial management of a complex organization is required.
  • Experience in post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Sensitive and able to work with a diversity of people and cultural groups.
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background criminal check and academic transcripts.
  • In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

Ambrose University is a private, accredited Christian post-secondary institute located in South West Calgary.
