Job Title: Safety, Health and Environment Manager-Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Manager to join our team at Waterford Executive. As a key member of our corporate management team, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing standard SHE programs across our Canadian and US operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and US health and safety legislation at our two Canadian business locations and one US location.
  • Develop strategies to prevent workplace injuries and refine our organizational health and safety policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to our operating divisions, including the US location, on implementing safety programs.
  • Conduct training and communication for management, staff, and Joint Health and Safety Committees on health and safety compliance requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior management on health and safety statistics and performance.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including the MOL, WSIB, OSHA, and HSE.
  • Coordinate corporate facility audits and set audit standards.
  • Review incident trend data to identify key risk areas and establish plans to eliminate them.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to supervisors and staff on SHE matters and best management practices.
  • Manage all WSIB claims, including appeal hearings.
  • Initiate and maintain effective working relationships with key managers across the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professionals) and/or CHSC (Certified Health and Safety Consultant) designations.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and US health and safety legislation and programs.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a leadership role within Health and Safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and training skills in health and safety areas.
  • Analytical and strategic skills to evaluate best practice approaches to SHE programs.
  • Proven ability to drive improvements in SHE programs.
