Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver and Logistics Coordinator to join our team at BAGPIPER TRANSPORT INC. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving and coordinating logistics, with a strong focus on customer service and safety.

About the Role

This is a permanent position that offers 35 to 40 hours of work per week. As a Truck Driver and Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various locations, while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining excellent communication with customers.

Responsibilities
  • Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to traffic laws and regulations;
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment regularly;
  • Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, following proper procedures;
  • Operate GPS and other navigation equipment to optimize routes and reduce transit times;
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional manner, providing excellent customer service;
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption;
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, reporting any issues or defects to management;
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch, receiving and relaying important information regarding cargo, routes, and scheduling;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid AZ class license and a Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks);
  • Experience in driving and coordinating logistics, preferably with a reputable transportation company;
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • A strong focus on safety, adhering to company policies and procedures;
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in GPS navigation systems and software;
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You must also be willing to travel cross-border, domestically, and internationally, occasionally for extended periods. A valid passport and driver's license are essential for this position.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 CAD, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:
