Job Summary

As a Global Economic Sanctions Specialist at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a critical role in reviewing and decisioning payments to support global business units and local compliance teams. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and addressing sanctions risk in real-time, ensuring compliance with regulations such as US, UK, EU, and Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review real-time payment escalations and make decisions in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Act as the first point of referral for internal clients on economic sanction-related issues, seeking guidance when required from Manager/Senior Manager GES Payments.
  • Engage Manager/Senior Manager GES Payments for complex cases that exceed established authority.
  • Stay up-to-date with sanctions regulations to ensure knowledge remains current.
  • Recommend the addition of entities/individuals on the RBC internal Watchlist to Manager/Senior Manager GES Payments where due diligence is conducted and an involvement with a sanctioned country or individual/entity is confirmed.
  • Work on statutory holidays on a rotating basis to support global business lines.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Canadian and US sanction regulations.
  • University Bachelor's Degree.
  • Ability to work in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.
