Site Health and Safety Manager

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC is seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our associates.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Operations Team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes.
- Develop and implement department goals and strategies to improve WHS performance.
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.
- Measure site's performance against published requirements in WHS policies and drive accountability for improvement.
- Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
- Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify noncompliant equipment and/or processes and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks.
- Audit recordkeeping practices and Gensuite entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and regulations.
- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with mix of exempt and nonexempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
- Master's degree.
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization.
- Certified Safety Professional.
