Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering design and management of structural engineering projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Provide technical direction and peer review for junior team members, ensuring high-quality designs and solutions.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, and reports to ensure compliance with building codes and design standards.
  • Oversee and provide construction review services to ensure projects are built to design specifications.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, building codes, and design standards to ensure our team's expertise remains current and competitive.

Requirements

  • University degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of design experience on structural engineering projects.
  • Previous experience in wood frame building design and luxury home and townhome design is an asset.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia and in good standing.
  • Familiar with all applicable building codes and design standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Working knowledge of structural design software (SFRAME, ETABS, SAP, Woodworks, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
