Job Summary:

The Trade Compliance Manager will oversee the efficiency and accuracy of Gordon Food Service's import compliance programs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Procedures: Develop and maintain procedures to streamline the trade compliance assessment process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.

  • Oversee FTA Management Program: Oversee the company's Free Trade Agreement (FTA) management program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.

  • Manage Vendor and Sourcing Compliance: Manage vendor and sourcing compliance screening, ensuring that all suppliers meet the company's compliance requirements.

  • Support Customs Compliance Projects: Support customs compliance projects, including trade verifications, self-corrections, and duty recovery.

  • Provide Consultation and Advice: Provide consultation and advice to senior management regarding areas of risk and compliance.

  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 Years' Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in trade compliance, with a strong understanding of Canada and U.S. customs fundamentals, including classification, country of origin, valuation, and FTAs.

  • Trade Management Software Experience: Experience with trade management software and internet-based trade compliance programs.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as problem-solving capabilities.

  • Time Management and Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously.

  • Results-Oriented: Results-oriented with a strong determination to succeed.

  • Positive Attitude: Positive attitude with a commitment to learning and desire for personal and professional growth.

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Google applications, Microsoft Office, email, and internet software applications.
