Job Summary:
The Trade Compliance Manager will oversee the efficiency and accuracy of Gordon Food Service's import compliance programs. This role will work closely with the trade compliance team to identify areas of risk, develop and implement control and compliance frameworks, provide advisory mentorship and training, and support the integration of trade management software and internet-based compliance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Maintain Procedures: Develop and maintain procedures to streamline the trade compliance assessment process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
Oversee FTA Management Program: Oversee the company's Free Trade Agreement (FTA) management program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
Manage Vendor and Sourcing Compliance: Manage vendor and sourcing compliance screening, ensuring that all suppliers meet the company's compliance requirements.
Support Customs Compliance Projects: Support customs compliance projects, including trade verifications, self-corrections, and duty recovery.
Provide Consultation and Advice: Provide consultation and advice to senior management regarding areas of risk and compliance.
Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 Years' Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in trade compliance, with a strong understanding of Canada and U.S. customs fundamentals, including classification, country of origin, valuation, and FTAs.
Trade Management Software Experience: Experience with trade management software and internet-based trade compliance programs.
Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as problem-solving capabilities.
Time Management and Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously.
Results-Oriented: Results-oriented with a strong determination to succeed.
Positive Attitude: Positive attitude with a commitment to learning and desire for personal and professional growth.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Google applications, Microsoft Office, email, and internet software applications.
